It’s my official first food adventure of the new school year and we couldn’t have run into a better place! Actually, it was my roommate Maria, our native Chicagoan, who suggested it, and I’m certainly glad she did.
Hot Woks, Cool Sushi is a cute little Asian food restaurant across from Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. They have three other locations in the city of Chicago so check out their website for locations and online menus (http://www.hotwokscoolsushi.com/). It serves all kinds of Asian cuisine, including Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. Inside, it has a very warm and welcoming feel with an acute modern twist including a wall of mirrors and mini art galleries set up on the walls that you can read about in the menu.
The menu is filled, as I said before, with all kinds of varying Asian cuisine. There’s sushi, sashimi and maki, traditional pad Thai, egg rolls, tons of varying chicken dishes and more! I had the pad Thai (my personal favorite dish) and it was one of the best ones I’ve had to date! My mom also ordered some sweet potato tempura, which I was a bit wary of trying, but it was so good I could’ve had a whole meal of just sweet potato tempura. I would highly recommend, especially if you like Asian food, that you try this restaurant when you’re next in Chicago; it has my winning vote.
